Armin Pflanz, a German-born photographer, who lives in Cape Town, South Africa for 20 years.
His work was presented for the first time in France on Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais, with a series of portraits from which is extracted “Khaya”.
In 2007, this series was presented at Photoquai, a biennial organized by the Musée Branly, bringing together 70 international photographers.
In 2010, he makes a series of portraits of women of Swaziland and of South Africa for the NGO Designing Hope. On this occasion, he spent several days, photographing these women in their daily environment. He also did portraits of these women wearing hats made out of textiles given to the association by renowned fashion designers.
This series was also presented in Geneva on the exhibition “The Peoples of the World” in 2014 at SIGEF.
